Medical Communications Management Centre

As lead Project Manager, Free Rein worked to develop the required project artifacts (Project Charter, Plan, Schedule, Budget, Issue and Risk Management Process, Testing and Implementation and Contingency Plans) for the development of a new Medical Communications Management Centre (MCMC) (responsible for processing over 100,000 requests for 911 call requests, receipt and processing of non-emergency requests for ground and air ambulance transportation; and coordinating ambulance deployment).

 

Our team delivered the state-of-the-art million dollar MCMC project within budget and ahead of originally anticipated schedule successfully with no impact to operations. We managed and coordinated project team activities including over a dozen key vendors required to facilitate the delivery of the project. We also successfully led the migration of system information from old to new site and established a fully functional ambulance dispatch centre backup site.

 

Finally, Free Rein participated in the development of a formal evacuation plan for the MCMC in the event of an emergency relocate. 

This project was delivered under budget and on time!

Voice over IP (VoIP) Implementation

Free Rein was tasked with managing a 450 phone migration from Centrex to a VoIP solution. The landscape included 4 offices across Nova Scotia with over 500 end points. In addition to common employee phone sets were 3 contact centres environments moving from a traditional ACD to VoIP.

 

Our Project Manager managed the project from the initial planning and detailed requirements phase through procurement, configuration, development, testing and implementation.

 

We were responsible for a project team comprised of internal staff across various departments, multiple vendors including the VoIP System Integrator, local telecommunications carriers and other small suppliers.

 

The project was a success - delivered on time and on budget.

IT Migration and Standardization

As lead Project Manager, Free Rein led the conversion for all departments and staff for a provincial utility - using Microsoft Exchange 2003, GroupWise and Lotus Notes to MS Exchange 2007 and the decommissioning of legacy email systems (multiple domains / departments).

This involved a complete email and infrastructure architectural design and requirements definition though formalized lab setup for development and testing and finally a phased implementation / migration for each platform.

 

Migration needed to take into account coexistence timeframes and the project placed significant attention on change management and communications to ensure expectations were established and information shared in a timely manner related to changes.

 

The full migration was heralded as a huge success and laid the foundation for standardization of related and integrated systems.

Customer Self Care Portal

Free Rein was solicited to lead a web development project for a major Wireless telecommunications provider mid way through the project delivery.

 

We took over the project and put it back on track by implementing project management discipline, processes and rigor while establishing a genuine and tea

m engaging project environment for everybody.

 

The solution involved the development of a public facing web presence in addition to an integrated consumer portal (multiple application & system interfaces).

 

The project was delivered on time and on budget.
